  • – How did you come into the profession, and how long have you been working in it?

    – I entered the profession a little earlier than I started working on set. First, 11 years ago, I opened a children’s talent agency called KIDS’ Emotions. Back then, we were practically finding kids on the streets because there were hardly any. Now, the agency has over 10,000 children. About three years later, I started working on set as an assistant to the actors, and two years after that, I became a casting director. I have been working in this position for six years now.

  • – What inspired you to open your own agency?

    – I have three daughters. One time, my middle daughter was selected for a commercial shoot — it was an image video for the 1+1 TV channel. I spoke with the producer and learned that no one was really working seriously in this field. At that time, there was an economic crisis, and many companies, including mine, were closing. So I decided to become a pioneer in this industry.

  • – What is your educational background?

    – I am a psychologist by education. I graduated from a theological institute in Moscow and a pedagogical university in Yaroslavl. I was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

  • – Do you have a favorite project?

    – One of my favorites is the TV series “Ballerina” (8 episodes). It was very interesting and challenging to find actors with a ballet background. The most important thing was that I had complete creative freedom in this project. The director, Roman Barabash, fully trusted me with casting.

  • – Did you discover any actor or actress during your work?

    – Yes, during this project we discovered Angelina Stretchina, who played the main role. It was practically her debut, and after that, she started starring in many leading roles.

  • – What did you want to be as a child?

    – I wanted to be an actress.

  • – Have you had any experience acting yourself?

    – As an adult? Yes, definitely. I played small episodic roles. But I have closed that chapter for myself. I prefer working as a casting director. Let the people who have studied acting earn their living that way.

  • – What are your hobbies?

    – I love traveling. The USA is my favorite country. I’ve been there six times already. I especially liked Miami. I would love to visit Japan and travel around Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand. I have also never been to Israel.

    Children are another passion of mine. They are teenagers now, and it’s an interesting stage of life. I love watching them grow and choose their paths. My eldest daughter has already tried working on set as an assistant to the actors — she enjoyed it. Filmmaking is very captivating!

    My favorite movie is “The Notebook”, and my favorite book is the Bible. I try to read it every day to grow spiritually

  • – What are you like in everyday life?

    – I’m friendly and open. Honestly, I rarely meet up with friends, but when I do, it’s very meaningful: we can talk all night. I have children, an agency, and projects — sometimes two or three at once — so I work a lot. Right now, I’m studying investing and financial independence. I really like the modern idea of retiring about ten years earlier to travel and devote myself to other passions. I want to be more selective about the projects I take on and work when I truly feel inspired.

  • – What else do you dream about?

    – I dream of making Christian films in Ukraine.

  • – Do you enjoy cooking?

    – Yes! But I don’t like cleaning up afterward. My favorite dish is manty.
