Every time I lose hope, I plant trees. Every time I am happy, I plant trees… On February 24, the first thing I did when I heard the explosions was start watering my plants.
I have never stopped loving or continuing life — not for a moment, even to this day. I saved the seeds from oranges and lemons. And I planted them. With hope that something alive and real would remain after me — even if it’s just a plant. This little orange tree has been growing since the first days of the war, pushing its way through the soil, surviving relocations.
Now we are home. We’re growing, and we continue to preserve and create life.
